plastic bottles become planters

did you know that you can recycle your plastic water and soda bottles and planters? You can with very little effort. You can even make some pretty with just a little paint may be some glitter and some other fun little craft items.

First collector water bottles soda bottles and other plastic containers. Then you'll need a good sharp pair of scissors or a knife in order to cut them. Some models will be easier to type because the plastic is thinner. Step one is to cut the bottle in half. You can do this in a straight line or if you want to make it fancier you could do it in a wavy line or a zigzag line. You may then want to take a file and file down the edges a little I found that a rough nail file works well for this. Depending on your plans you may need to place holes in the bottom of your new pot you have created in order for excess water to drain. This can be done by using a pin or needle. if the plastic as a thicker plastic you may need to heat the pin or needle with a lighter. In some cases you may want to use a sharp knife and place small triangle shaped holes in order for enough water to drain.

You can then decorate the outside of your water bottle pots. You can use glue and glitter you can use paint you could use a little pom-poms or anything else you would like to decorate the outside of your pot.

You can use the top half of the bottle by gluing it to something else which will allow it to stand up and look like a wine glass. The easiest and most inexpensive item I have found to use would be an old CD or DVD. Many of us have these old disks lying around and do not use them anymore. Again you can decorate them just as you would the rest of the pot.
